Sunday School
Trafalgar uses the "Seasons of the Spirit" curriculum, a Canadian-based resource prepared annually by an international, interdenominational group of writers. Each week, teachers invite children to explore meaning and mystery in the Bible through conversation, playing, and arts & crafts. A wide variety of activities and materials makes the Bible accessible for a children with a variety of learning styles. Another key to this program is that the Bible passages the children learn about each week are the same passages that adults will hear simultaneously in worship. This enhances conversation between parents and children after church and facilitates further family learning at home.
Sunday School for children is held Sundays from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m. after the children's story with the minister. Excellent quality teachers and shepherds (helpers) ensure that kids are safe and have a great time while they learn. The classes are divided into ages 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-11 and 12+ (junior youth).
For toddlers aged 1 and 2 there is a supervised, secure room and a separate secure, supervised room for infants. Both are staffed by selected volunteer adults as well as teens from the congregation, and contain clean, age-appropriate games and toys. Rocking chairs in a quiet area are available for nursing, and there is a change table with basic supplies on hand should you need them.
Adult Bible Study
Currently there are two Bible study groups that meet weekly at Trafalgar. Every Thursday morning at 6am, the Day Break Bible Study group meets for one hour with coffee, a snack and excellent discussion. This popular study always welcomes new people, and is over by 7am, making it very convenient for those with busy work and family lives. On Wednesday nights at 7pm, adults meet for a time of Bible learning that applies scripture to everyday living. This group is also eager to invite participants, especially if they have never before read or explored the Bible. For more information on either group, or to ask if there is an additional seasonal study being offered, please contact the church office.
Library
Because learning happens in many different ways, we provide a large selection of current books and videos, and have a growing collection of CDs and DVDs for people of all ages. Especially popular are children's books and movies, and for adults there is both inspirational and informative literature. A quiet reading room is available before and after worship on Sunday.
