Our Story
In 1986, Trafalgar Presbyterian Church began when its first minister Rev. Ferne Reeve began knocking on doors and inviting people to create a new Christian congregation in north Oakville. After worshiping in a school gym for five years, the present church was built in 1991. An addition expanded the capacity for Christian education in 2002. The facility is completely wheelchair accessible and includes not only a clean, bright worship space, but a large hall, offices, and classrooms. An independent day care rents space Monday to Friday and a variety of other organizations, including a music school, a Japanese language school and a Korean Christian congregation use the classrooms during the week. Since its humble beginnings with just a handful of people, the Trafalgar community has grown to include hundreds of people and has touched countless lives.
Meanwhile, our mission at Trafalgar remains unchanged. We seek to create and foster an enduring Christian community, to rejuvenate, nurture and strengthen our personal relationships with Jesus Christ, and to enable children to experience Jesus and Christian friendship through worship, mission, and Christian education. There is an emphasis on grace and good humour, and every event is suitable for people of all ages, stages and backgrounds.
This is a faith-filled community that has impacted many lives through our worship and mission. If you are longing for a deeper faith and a better world, you will fit in at Trafalgar. There is always room for one more!
